My time here at Purple Robot

Marketing Intern, Chris, reflects and looks back on working at Purple Robot during his internship.

As my time at Purple Robot comes to an end, I have been looking back on some of the moments I have enjoyed the most and gained the most from. First of all, having the opportunity to come in and work here for three months has been a fantastic experience, and one am I happy I was lucky enough to take up.

At the beginning of this internship, I was very nervous especially as I didn’t know a lot about marketing, but it is an area I wanted to learn more about. I was also nervous as I didn’t want to make mistakes and be a burden. However, when I was stuck, unsure or just needed some help, I felt comfortable enough to ask and make sure I knew what was expected of me, rather than stay silent and spend time doing the wrong thing. Whilst working here I have begun to understand the ins and outs of the working world, how to communicate efficiently and effectively, how to put my ideas across with confidence, and to take on board constructive criticism to produce top quality work.

I have had the opportunity to be a part of strategy meetings for different clients and brainstorming sessions in which we have come up with a plan of action to solve the problem that we have been presented with. These experiences are ones that I will remember and take forward with me.  Having the chance to produce work for clients such as the Quattro Plant JG Speedfit Kawasaki racing team has been brilliant, and it has taught me so much. It has also helped me to improve my design skills and improve my thought process when tackling a problem. It has been such a fantastic opportunity to get stuck in and learn so much about the day-to-day work that is produced through an agency. The ability to adapt to breaking news, change what has been planned, and come up with a new approach is essential as you never know what might happen.

Lastly, I would like to thank the Purple Robot team for this opportunity and for everything they have taught me over the past 3 months. It has been a fantastic experience and one I won’t forget. I wish them all the best for the future.
