Digital Marketing Apprentice with Thumbs Up

Three Years at Purple Robot

I almost can’t believe that I started my journey with Purple Robot three years ago, joining the team as their Digital Marketing Apprentice. With this being my first full-time job, I didn’t know what to expect. I quickly learnt that this was a place where I wanted to stay.

It’s almost surreal to think about everything that I’ve achieved with the Purple Robot team in my corner. Whether that’s becoming certified in Digital Marketing, completing my Apprenticeship or attending the Lincolnshire Business Awards. Don’t get me wrong, all of these things are great, but I’m most proud of the personal development working here has allowed me to achieve. I’ve worked on so many skills here, whether that’s communication skills, improvising and adapting, time management, getting over my anxiety of taking phone calls, and more. I’ve said it a hundred times and I’ll say it again: working at Purple Robot has improved me as a person, not just as an employee.

If I look at myself back then and compare that version of myself to now, there are some clear differences. I was very nervous about speaking to people from other businesses and representing Purple Robot when I started, but now it’s something I can do without hesitation. If I had a time machine and told myself in 2018, that in three years, I would be teaching Digital Marketing to an organisation without any problems, I wouldn’t believe myself!

I feel as if I have become a valuable asset to the Purple Robot team now, which is what I wanted from the beginning. I take pride in knowing that my colleagues can rely upon me to help them and get things done, just like they helped me when I started. Working from home in the last year has been another strange part of the journey, but it brought some positives. Whilst I much prefer being with the guys whilst I work, my independence has improved in leaps and bounds, and I feel extremely productive throughout my working day.

Overall, my experience has been nothing but positive, and I’m very much looking forward to seeing what the future holds. At Purple Robot, I’ve learnt skills that will be valuable no matter where life takes me, and that’s something I will always be grateful for.

Of course, if anyone has any questions about my journey, or even about the whole Apprenticeship process, I encourage you to reach out to me! I’d be happy to help out wherever I can. I know how valuable opportunities like this can be, and I’d be more than happy to offer my advice to anyone that would want to hear.
